Welcome to NCSA Sports News on this SUPER SPORTS SATURDAY!
We had a lot of action today on sports field across the NCSA.
We start today's broadcast with basketball.
For that we go to the Hilton Arena in Harald City for the match between the Diddyland Pilots and the West Phoenician Scorpions.
The Pilots' Gene Gomez lead the way to a 111-106 victory, scoring 26 points.
This leaves the standings as follows:
1 - Diddyland Pilots - 2 wins
2 - West Phoenician Scorpions(c) - 0
A tough start to the season for the current champions from West Phoenicia. They have some catching up to do.
From basketball we switch to football.
The Frijstaater Flames beat the Diddyland Blue Devils by 38 - 17 in front of their own crowd in the Metro Arena in Felsenburg.
Flames RB Benjamin Pfeiffer played the probably best match of his career, rushing for 130 yards and 3 touchdowns, and, as if that wasn't enough, also receiving for 93 yards and another touchdown. Absolutely amazing stuff!
In the Battlegrounds (Palmetto Airlines Stadium), the Charlotte Paratroopers lost their home game against the Fensite Sharks by 29-41.
Sharks QB Erick Hill had an outstanding match, probably also the best of his career, completing 25/31 throws for 390 yards and 5 touchdowns!
Finally, in the Gwinnett Sports Complex, the Coastal Crusaders lost yet another match. This time they lost against the West Phoenician War Dancers by 26 - 7.
The Crusaders are still waiting for the first victory in their franchise's history.
War Dancers QB James Emanon had a good game, completing 20 of his 26 throws for 287 yards, 1 touchdown, but also 1 interception.

The reigning champions from Diddyland, who had gone unbeaten last season, have yet to win a game this season.
And so, for a last time today, we switch sports. Now we go to hockey!
At the Metro Arena in Felsenburg, Frijstaat, the Frijstaater Hedgehogs lost to the West Phoenician Heatwaves by 2-3.
The Hedgehogs got the lead in the first period, and Peter Neumann extended that lead to a 2-0 in the second period after an assist from Jason Shuhmacher.
But the third period belonged to the Heatwaves, and short before the end of the match, Alan Cook was able to tie the match!
In the end, the Heatwaves won the match in overtime.
For the last match of this broadcast, we go to the Disney Arena in Othmarschen, Diddyland, where the Diddyland Freezers lost 2-3 against the Cream Pies.
After a scoreless first period, Ethan Knight assisted the Cream Pies' first goal of the game, but the freezers could also score a minute afterwards.
Taylor French gave the Freezers the lead in the third period after an assist from Dustin Boone but it was not enough. The Cream Pies tied the game, and then proceeded to win the match in overtime.
So, after those identical scores, here go the NCSA hockey standings:
1 - West Phoenician Heatwaves - 2 wins
2 - The Cream Pies(c) - 1

And that concludes this extra-long news show.
Have a good night!
