Governor Franklin Martinez, ecstatic to hear about the furthering of space exploration and its sciences offers the Reich assistance with costs and construction needs. He also requests that one seat be set aside for a Oehiton scientist if at all possible.

The Confederate State of Oehiton is a massive, cultured nation, ruled by Governor Franklin Martinez with an even hand, and notable for its frequent executions, unlimited-speed roads, and smutty television. The hard-nosed, hard-working, humorless population have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.
Citizens are well armed and serve a mandatory 6 years in the Oehiton Defense Forces at which time when their service is up, they are given their side arm & rifle should they retire from active duty. Education is free and all are expected to attend Higher Education Facilities either during or after their military service.
Oehiton takes their religions seriously and cults and upstart religions are usually squashed quickly unless authorized by the government as official religions. Anyone participating in illegal faiths are arrested and imprisoned for 1-4 years. Phones & e-mails and mail are all monitored.
